Mike Burney
Vice President, Acquisitions
Mike Burney is based in Houston, Texas and leads the firm's industrial acquisitions for the Southwest. He brings over twelve years of institutional real estate experience, having acquired, developed, financed, leased, managed, and disposed of over $1 billion in assets. Mike has extensive experience aggregating industrial and industrial outdoor storage (IOS) properties through programmatic acquisitions to scale institutional-quality portfolios.
Prior to joining B&D, Mike was a Partner at Transport Properties, where he led the firm's Texas and Sun Belt IOS investment platform. Before that, as Director at DryPort Capital, he helped raise equity from family offices and directed development, financing, leasing, and asset management for a series of IOS projects across Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Memphis. Earlier in his career, he spent six years at Stonelake Capital Partners, most recently as Director, where he led acquisitions, leasing, and asset management across an approximately 6 million square foot institutional industrial platform. His work there included ground-up development projects in Katy, Houston, and Tampa. He began his career at Amegy Bank as a commercial real estate banker and credit analyst.
